Utah Arts Academy Goes Hearsee

Hearsee Mobility recently installed its innovative indoor navigation system at Utah Arts Academy, making it the first school in the country to feature this technology designed by and for the blind community.

Led by founder James Bloomfield, this milestone reflects Hearsee’s mission to build tools that empower blind and low-vision individuals to navigate spaces independently. “The blind population designed this system themselves,” Bloomfield said. “We’re just helping make their vision a reality.”

With RFID tags embedded throughout the school, students using a Hearsee cane receive real-time audio directions and location descriptions—enabling safe, confident navigation in hallways, classrooms, and shared spaces.

This is just the beginning. Hearsee is committed to expanding this technology into more schools, museums, airports, and public spaces nationwide—building a future where accessibility isn’t an afterthought, but the foundation.
